CAPF: Development and Creation of Jobs Must take Priority Over Social Development.

Development and Creation of Jobs Must take Priority Over Social Development.

Arguments For:

Development and creation of jobs cannot be divorced from social development. On one hand, govt can provide subsidy to poor and needy for the lifetime and keep them dependent on govt of day. It decreases the elbow room for the govt also to create more infrastructure and reduces economic activity in system.
On the other hand is the job creation through development agenda. Job creation with development comes with umbrella of benefits like, if people get into jog, first of all they get a regular source of income, through with they themselves become self dependent and the salary they get increases the economic activity in society, which in turn, creates demand and thus requires more production. More production means, many more factories across the country, and more jobs for people, thus, job creation increases the level of living of an individual directly and of whole country indirectly.

Arguments Against:

Since 1990’s reforms, Indian economy is growing leaps and bounds. With all the statistics representing a golden India, there are people who still cannot manage two times meal a day. The reason is the Jobless Growth of the Economy. Indian economy has growth at a fast pace but, it could not create jobs at the same rate. As a result, rich became richer and poor become poorer. Govt are formed on Poverty removal agenda, but, govt tenure ends, and poverty didn’t ended.

In such a situation, being a welfare state, its the task of govt to help poor in satisfying their daily needs. The govt is helping them in form of proving subsidized LPG cylinder, free water upto certain amount, electricity has reached many villages, housing for all, antodaya yojana, MNREGA, all are social sector schemes run by govt for welfare of poor. Although these schemes hit govt account severely, and impact development agenda adversely, but being a welfare state its responsibility of govt to take care of unprivileged sections of society.
